Doggy Daycare

Fur Baby University’s specialized daycare program is designed to provide a fun-filled day of socialization, exercise and mental stimulation.  We understand the importance of structure – our skilled team and small class sizes help facilitate engaging playtime.

In addition to our well-equipped play areas, our campus focuses on the safety and comfort of your pets, with Pet First Aid and CPR trained staff, and a cuddle & comfort room directed by our Guidance Counselor.

Boarding

Your fur baby’s in good hands with our boarding services! Our newly-built facility and attentive team provide a comfortable environment for dogs of all sizes. Each dorm offers a comfortable sofa bed, and each pet is assigned a locker when they arrive on campus.

The best part is, you can monitor and check in on your furry family member with our daily transcripts and live webcams!

About Us

Established in April 2023, Fur Baby University is the dream and lifelong adventure of a mom, dad and daughter team. Equipped with their natural love of animals and industry experience, the team set out to create a safe, fun, playful yet disciplined, and loving environment.

We strive to create a safe environment, fostering pet adventures and playtime with similar dogs under trained supervision. Each of our founders holds their Pet Spa Certification as well as being Pet First Aid and CPR (animal and human) certified.

Our values encompass who we are at our core: caring, compassionate, knowledgeable, family-oriented, disciplined and fun!

One way we put our values into action is through our partnership with local rescue groups. We regularly work with local rescue groups to help find good homes for pets in need. A huge thanks to the many rescue groups for their tireless efforts with sheltered dogs — the true reward for our team is in meeting these wonderful pets and seeing them start their new lives with loving families.

We also donate a portion of our annual revenue to Service Dogs Alabama, and not to leave out our human friends, we established the Fur Baby University Scholarship Program. Each year, we award two students a $1,500 scholarship to help them pursue their educational goals.

Pet Emergency Education Our team is certified in pet CPR and first aid by Pet Emergency Education.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes! Tours are encouraged and welcomed. Feel free to stop by from 10am to 3pm or 5pm to close, Monday through Friday, or 10am to 3pm on Saturday. No appointment needed!

Reservations are required for grooming services and are preferred for daycare and boarding. We understand that life happens and we’ll always try to accommodate your stay needs! Contact us during campus hours, or request a reservation via our Pet Portal.

The health and safety of every pet in our care is our number one concern. Accordingly, fur babies are welcome on campus four weeks after all completed vaccines. It is recommended that fur babies get their final round of adult vaccines at 12 weeks old.

We do not require your fur baby to be altered for day care or boarding! It is encouraged to follow your vet’s recommendations for spay/neuter decisions. All pets at Fur Baby University are behaviorally observed, and only socially appropriate dogs will be allowed to participate in group activities. Some intact dogs may be excluded from some activities for safety. Note: female fur babies in heat are not permitted on campus.

No. Fur Baby University features off-leash play facilities. Wearing collars and harnesses are a safety hazard in off-leash play areas – a dog can “take down” its playmate using the collar or harness as leverage, or parts of them can become tangled in others’ collars. When you check in on campus, your pet will receive a name tag so our staff can all get to know them!

Besides socializing with other dogs, your fur baby will enjoy our specially-designed enrichment curriculum, and engage in free play in our spacious, safely enclosed play yard.

You are welcome to pack a couple of your pet’s favorite toys to enjoy when they’re in their private suite. Chew toys are welcome, but please no rawhides, squeaky toys, or rope toys.

We strongly encourage this! New foods can sometimes upset fur babies’ bellies. If you cannot or would rather not bring your fur baby’s food, or if we run out during their stay with us, we will be happy to feed them our in-house dog food at no additional charge. Please bring individual bags for each portion of personal food, as your scoop size may be different than our scoop size.

Yes! We will administer your fur baby’s medication while staying with us at no additional cost. We do not give injected medications. Please bring medications in their original bottles for the safety of our staff, and please do not put medicine in dog food.

Our staff is CPR and Pet First Aid certified. We will make every attempt to reach you or your emergency contact in the unlikely event of an illness or injury. If we cannot reach you, Fur Baby University will seek veterinary attention. Should this be required, all vet costs will be the responsibility of the pet owner.

At Fur Baby University, we pride ourselves on a smaller class ratio. On average, our classes range from 10 dogs to 15 dogs at a time.

From bathing and brushing to de-shedding treatment, we can do it all! Our grooming services include bathing, brushing, eye and ear cleaning, hair trimming, nail trimming, teeth brushing and more.
